Wrong
He took this photo intentionally for an example for his students of what they do as a mistake and he absolutely hated people who took these types of picture. The lighting is the worst thing I've ever seen. He use bad choices of compositions, e.g. leading lines, diagonal lines or phi grids, etc.

John Baldessari is known for works that blend photographic materials such as film stills. He takes them out of their original context and rearranges their form, often outlining their shapes including the addition of words or short sentences.
The artist made this work between 1966 and 1968. He was intentionally questioning the conventions of picture-making, among other things. The artist created this work after looking at an art instruction book about how to properly compose images. Baldessari had himself photographed in front of a palm tree. |
Dots
i will not make boring art
What if you put dots on someone's face, that is very rude... Well not for Mr. John Baldessari.. no no. He puts dots on everyone's photos. He messed with everyone's head and twisted it around.

So we tried.... yes by meaning I tried, I failed. It's really hard to put a circle around someone's FACE OR SOMETHING IMPORTANT.
1) Only the faces were covered. 2) because it was set in Christmas, I took the presents of the screen. 3) If that newspaper was not there there would be no reaction at all, unfortunately. So I took that off :(| So, we tried. In my opinion, John Baldessari is a great artist and the way he exquisitely put dots on celebrities and cartoons, this is quite amazing way to love your art. |
